The Umbraco CMS

Umbraco

I've been building websites on the Umbraco content management system since 2006 and I'll be honest, it still blows my mind how awesome this tool is. The guys over at Umbraco really knew what they were doing when they started developing this CMS.

Many years ago we built our own content management systems here at Streng, but because every website is different it became hard to build something to fit every permutation needed. That is why we set out to find a flexible solution, and the platform we found was Umbraco.

Umbraco is a friendly, robust platform with flexibility that lends itself to run everything from small micro sites to large complex applications. What does that mean? Well, basically Umbraco can do anything, and because it can do anything, it allows us the freedom to tailor websites to fit our client's needs without any restrictions.

It also has an awesome community full of passionate people, including the core development team, that share and collaborate to grow Umbraco and help each other develop new and better ways to do things. It's basically a nerd party for web developers that results in a better web experience for everyone.

Umbraco Certified Partner We've developled over 100 websites using the Umbraco CMS, and in 2012 became an Umbraco Certified Partner.

Ideal SurveysIdeal Industries survey website built to allow easy creation of surveys for multiple product lines, with traffic driven by QR codes on product packaging.

Umbraco is one of the top 5 apps on the Microsoft stack and has more than 160,000 installations. Companies such as Heinz, Wired, Fox, and even Microsoft all have sites developed in Umbraco and that list is rapidly growing. Coupled with the fact that Umbraco is developed with Microsoft's .Net technology, I'm convinced that I won't just be using Umbraco to develop sites today but that Umbraco will be a tool that will follow me the rest of my career.
